By air plane or train

The nearest airport is Leipzig-Halle. From there please take a taxi to the institute (approx. 30,- Euro) or the train RE 5 to Leipzig Central Station (every hour daily). At Leipzig Central Station go to the tram station, track 2. Take tram lines nr. 3 (direction: Taucha) or 3E (direction: Sommerfeld) and exit at stop “Permoser/Torgauer Straße” (tram takes 12 minutes, 7th stop). Cross ‘Torgauer Straße’ and follow ‘Permoser Straße’ until, after about 5 Minutes, you find the entrance to the “Wissenschaftspark” on the left. Please sign in at the gate. You will receive a map of the “Wissenschaftspark”. Further public transport: Next to the entrance of the science park bus lines 77 and 90 stop at station “Leonhard-Frank-Straße”.

Fares

From Airport Leipzig/Halle to Leipzig you cross travel zones 163, 162 and 110. You need a train ticket for three zones. Single tickets start at 4 Euros (duration of travel 1,5 hours max). One day travel cards are 9,- Euros (valid for 24 hours after validation) for 3 zones. Travels in the inner city of Leipzig (Zone 110) start with 2,30 Euro for a single ticket (valid for one hour after ticket validation). One day travel card for one person and zone is 5,50 Euros. One day travel cards can also be obtained for 2 to 5 persons.The public transport in the Leipzig/Halle region is provided by the Mitteldeutsche Verkehrsverbund MDV. Tickets can be bought at the airport train as well as every tram stop. Current fares can also be found on the homepage of the MDV.
